Regardless of what season of life you are in, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at Arcadia Christian Church.
Arcadia Christian Church provides for children of all ages. The church has a nursery, children’s ministry, children’s classes and events (Kindergarten-5th grade), and youth classes and events (Junior High-Highschool). All parents are welcomed and encourage to get involved.
Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group of Arcadia Christian Church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people. Join us Sunday mornings at 9:30 am, during Sunday School
Adults Bible Study
Adults of all ages are invited to a Bible Study on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm. If you have children in junior high or high school, please bring them along on Wednesday evenings to be apart of the youth group that also meets at 7:00pm.
Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, Arcadia Christian Church has small bible studies. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twelve.
Arcadia Christian Women’s Groups gives the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups, located in several locations throughout our community, are times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.
The Arcadians (Age 50+)
Once you get past fifty, the fun has just begin. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the over-50 group of Arcadia Christians provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. A mentoring ministry gives older believers a chance to meet with and help younger believers grow in Christ. Church membership is not required to come and Fellowship with the Arcadian’s in the Fellowship Hall of Arcadia Christian Church on the second Thursday of every month.
Started in 2006 by Betty Goswick and Earline Zimmermann for the ladies of Arcadia Christian Church to have the opportunity to help others while having fellowship and refreshments. The ladies meet every other month in the Fellowship Hall, cutting material, sewing, and stuffing pillows. They make deliveries 3 times a year. They have delivered to MD Anderson Cancer Treatment Center, Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Radiation Center, St John Drive, Deke Slaton Cancer Center, Texas Oncology, Sugarland, Veterans Hospital Houston, and Shriners Hospital For Children, and UTMB, Galveston, Hospice Care Team, Texas City. They also give to individuals who have need. They never charge for any item. They also in years past donated stuffed bears, lap covers, complete dresses, booties, caps, tissue holders and gifts for children totes. They continue to collect for Shriners Hospital for the care givers all type of yarn, crochet thread and craft kits as they stay with their terrible burned children. They also collect play doh, hot wheels, and dolls.
Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Arcadia Christian Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers on our Prayer Warriors team, pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Wednesday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.
Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Arcadia Christian Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. The Ten missionaries from Arcadia Christian Church are located in various countries—United States, China, and Mexico. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers.
Praise and Worship
God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of Arcadia Christian Church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.
Media & Technology
Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Arcadia Christian Church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication.
Marriages can be difficult to maintain. Misunderstanding, confusion, resentment, and anger can flare up in any marriage. Several couples at Arcadia Christian Church serve other families as marriage counselors. Their role in listening, understanding, helping, and encouraging struggling couples has, by God’s grace, saved marriages, and repaired relationships. Couples have found fresh hope and new joy in a warm and fulfilling relationship with their spouse.
